Assurant Solutions Announces Kingston Hiring Plans

Operations centre goes 24/7, will hire 100 new associates

KINGSTON, ONT: Assurant Solutions will create up to 75 new jobs at the Kingston Operations Centre over the next three months - in addition to filling about 25 vacancies - to accommodate the growth of the company's extended service contract business and implementation of a 24/7 work schedule, the company announced today.

The new jobs will include customer service representatives in Warranty Operations and Contact Centre Operations as well as technical support representative positions with various levels of information technology skills. The company also is actively recruiting management staff for those areas.

"With the recent implementation of a 24/7 schedule, we have expanded our full-time shift work opportunities as well as introduced weekend-only part-time work," said Kathy Burke, vice president, Customer Services Canada. "We also are actively recruiting bilingual associates who speak English and French, and English and Spanish."

Assurant Solutions currently employs about 280 at the Kingston centre. The opening of the $6.4 million centre in 2003 enabled the company to consolidate customer service, claims and other support functions previously located at two sites in Toronto.
