The Signal was formed in 1984 to offer a low-cost handset insurance program specifically targeted to cellular equipment that would help wireless carriers provide superior customer service, reduce churn and improve profitability.

Starting as a single customer service and handset administration center in 1984, Signal Holdings has grown to five full-service call centers and one logistics and repair facility. Today, Signal Holdings is a part of Assurant Solutions' Extended Protection Solutions business and remains a limited liability corporation with three operating entities: The Signal, LP; CWork Solutions, LP; Signal Northwest, LP.

Throughout its history, Signal Holdings has maintained a rigorous commitment to quality customer service, continuous product improvement and integrity in all its business relationships. As a company, Signal Holdings has continued to add capabilities to support the ever expanding requirements to provide fully integrated handset protection and logistics programs.
